Michael O’Connor
Celebrity stylist, Michael O’Connor is one of America’s leading voices on style, jewelry and accessories. He is the “go-to” resource for editors and producers seeking an informed source for current trends, celebrity style and how to get the look for less. O’Connor became involved in the luxury, fashion and jewelry industries in a career that spans over 25 years.
Throughout the year O’Connor works with numerous top celebrities and celebrity stylists helping them to style and accessorize for awards shows, appearances and premiers. He has worked with such celebrities as Amy Adams, Gabourie Sidbe, Eva Longoria, Minnie Driver, Cheryl Hines, and Felicity Huffman to name a few. Additionally, he works with leading fashion editors and television producers to select and speak on products and trends for their photo pages, illustrate story lines and wardrobe programs.
O’Connor regularly appears on a variety of live and taped television shows. He has done live coverage, interviews and commentary from the Academy Awards and Emmy Awards Red Carpets for TV Guide, Reelz Channel and Reuters International Television and filmed segments from the Red Carpet for MTV and E!. O’Connor was the host of his own TV series, MovieStyle with Michael O’Connor, on Reelz Channel. As a repeat guest on The Today Show, O’Connor has done segments on Men’s Style, Oscar Trends and given style advice on “Today Throws a Wedding.” In repeat appearances on EXTRA O’Connor has given tips on Red Carpet “do’s and don’ts,” celebrity style and done “Extra-Friends Giveaways.” He was a repeat guest on TV Guide’s FASHION TEAM, as well as FASHION WRAPS, with Joan and Melissa Rivers critiquing celebrity style. As Reelz Channel’s Style Correspondent, O’Connor has hosted “Style File” and “Fashion Friday” segments and was a regular panelist on “Fashion Fanatics” for post-awards style critiques. For 12 years, he was seen regularly in 95 million households on live national television as QVC’s jewelry and style expert.
In January 2017 Jewelry Television (JTV) announced the debut of its exclusive Michael O’Connor for Bella Luce collection, the first design collaboration with Michael O’Connorand in 2018 The Danbury Mint released “The Michael O’Connor Studded Satchel,” a women’s handbag designed by Michael.
O’Connor is regularly interviewed and quoted in numerous national TV and print media such as US Weekly, Life & Style, People, CNN, Vogue Trendwatch, ABC News, CBS News, E! News, E! Online, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight and Inside Edition, speaking on red carpet style, celebrity accessory choices, celebrity engagement rings, men’s jewelry and trends to watch for. He is seen on a variety of regional television programs updating viewers on current style and jewelry trends, including “How You Can Achieve the Same Look for Less.” O’Connor is quoted regularly in publications across the country on seasonal trends and wardrobe suggestions and has been featured as E! Online’s Fashion Police Trend Spy and Most Wanted Fashionista. Additionally, O’Connor contributes fashion advice and trend stories to a number of print and online publications. He was QVC.com’s style editor and is a current celebrity fashion contributor for InDesign Magazine, Wedding Dresses Magazine and Engagement 101.
Internationally, O’Connor has been interviewed and appeared on the CBC, The National, Fashion TV, E! and ET in Canada, GMTV in the UK; SKY Television throughout Europe; Telemundo in the US and South America, LUXE in France and in a number of print and broadcast vehicles throughout Asia.
O’Connor graduated from University of Toronto, with a degree in English Literature, and studied design at New York’s FIT.
